On Sunday, our 2022 10U (2012) Whitecaps won the Orilla Legion Minor Baseball Tournament, beating Milton 13-7 in the semi-finals and New Market 13-6 in the final game.
Congratulations to coach Wayne and the boys on a great tournament!!
We are excited to announce that the Town of Lakeshore has approved funding for a new batting cage to be located at our Lion’s Park facility. The project is scheduled to begin in 2022 and potentially be ready later this season.
The project has been in the works since 2016 and gaining very little traction, largely due to a lack of funding and the considerable cost of replacing the existing structure. In 2021, a motion was brought to Town Council for funding where it was put off until 2023. However, with the help of Deputy Mayor Tracey Bailey, we were able to have the motion revisited for 2022 where it passed unanimously at the February 1st council meeting.
Lakeshore Minor Baseball would like to sincerely thank Deputy Mayor Bailey and the council for listening to the concerns of our baseball community and investing in the future of baseball in our great community!
Baseball comes along every spring, accompanied by sunshine, optimism, and fun. It is the herald of better times. It signifies the end of winter and the coming of spring, a season of rebirth, new life, and abundant hopefulness. We need baseball now more than ever!
It's time to play ball once again!
